SUNDAY MEETING THEME:

MEDITATION, THE POWER OF DOING NOTHING
How change and healing can happen when you get out of the way.

“Whatever is happening in the circumstances of your life, stop. Just for a moment. Bring your attention towards the here-and-now. Let the moment become fascinating. Gently begin to acknowledge what is actually happening where you are. Come out of your conclusions about life, your dreams about past and future, and begin to notice the sensations, feelings, thoughts that are present, right here and right now. Let your present experience – sights and sounds and smells – become the most curious dance in all the universe. You are seeing, tasting, touching, hearing the world as if for the first time. This is your Garden of Eden, your messy, intense, joyous and heart-breaking Garden of Eden, and you are awake to it at last. Stop trying to figure everything out. Give in. Give up. Give all to the moment’s embrace. Fall into not knowing…” – Jeff Foster

When we stop trying to change the present moment, and simply allow things to be as they are, meeting what’s here with an attitude of curiosity and gentleness, we may just discover unexpected gifts. This is true meditation. Not a ‘doing’, but a resting. Not a goal, but a pathless path of present moments.

When we get out of the way, perhaps true healing can really begin. Our greatest pain may turn out to be our greatest teacher, our doubts our greatest gurus, our deepest sorrow our most trustworthy friend.

We may begin to see the perfection even in the imperfection of our lives.

We may begin to trust our lack of trust, surrender to our inability to surrender, love even our failure to love.

We may realise, at last, that we can finally rest, exactly where we are.

Join author/teacher Jeff Foster for day of talks, taboo-busting meditative dialogues and restful silences; a day of laughter, honesty and tears; a day of seeing our struggles, our fears, our confusions in a fresh new light; a day of resting deeply, of letting go of the exhausting search for ‘something more’; a day of being present with whatever arises in ourselves and each other.

Whether you are struggling with your life and are looking for peace and space amidst the chaos, or you are a healer or therapist interested in meeting others in a new way, this workshop is for you.

“Everything that happens in your life – including the suffering and the endless seeking – is your unique invitation to awaken from the dream of tomorrow, and profoundly embrace what is here today. There are no mistakes, when even our mistakes are cherished.” – Jeff Foster

You don’t need to have attended one of Jeff’s previous talks to attend this one. All are welcome.

Testimonials:

“Great talk yesterday. Thanks for really driving home the point that there is nothing to wait for, and that freedom is in every experience – it just may look different from what we may expect. Freedom in life, not freedom from experiencing the ‘bad/scary’ parts of it.”

“I had been secretly searching for the ‘perfect moment’ all of my life, the moment I would be happy for good, thinking that something or somebody could give me a magic tool which allow me not to suffer for the rest of my life. After attending Jeff’s meetings and reading his books, I allowed myself the freedom to experience any sort of situation and emotions without having to feel guilty about it or feeling I am going backwards and beating my self up for it. Today being happy, crying or feeling like a failure are all opportunities for me to celbrate this life with open arms…”
