Jeff Foster & Scott Kiloby – FEELINGS AND TIME
How we create suffering by running away from present experience into an imagined future.
“Scott Kiloby and Jeff Foster, two of the freshest and most accessible voices in modern nonduality teachings, present a 5-hour workshop on the relationship between our embodied human experience (sensations, feelings, emotions) and time itself.”
Much of our suffering originates in our unconscious attempts to escape or deny aspects of our present experience. We habitually label parts of our experience as ‘bad’ or ‘wrong’ or ‘not okay’, and attempt to run away from them to their conceptual opposites. In millions of different ways, we seek to be ‘okay’ or ‘complete’ at some point in the future. This search for a future wholeness creates the very experience of being ‘broken’ or ‘incomplete’ that we are trying to escape. But is a broken, incomplete self who we really are? Or is there another way of seeing things?
What do feelings and emotions look like when they are no longer being avoided? What happens when seeking is seen through, and life is confronted in all its timelessness? What does life look like beyond the story of individuality?
Real healing is possible when we take a clear, honest look at our present experience together, not with the aim of ‘fixing’ it or becoming ‘enlightened’, but with the intention of discovering what’s really going on beyond our mind-created stories.
In this workshop we will have plenty of time together to share, discuss and explore the nature of our experience. Jeff and Scott will gently guide us towards an honest look at who we really are, beyond who we think we are, beyond the story of separation, seeking and time. This is an informal and friendly workshop, and there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions, if questions arise for you. We look forward to seeing you there!
